A Toms River lawyer saddled with a $695,000 employment discrimination verdict filed for bankruptcy on May 7, halting any action to collect it.
A federal jury in March found Laurence Hecker liable, along with APM Financial Solutions — a client for whom he does debt-collection work — on the theory that he was a joint employer of the plaintiff, Steven Bess.
