Irwin Horowitz had spent years in private practice before joining Hartz Mountain Industries as general counsel 23 years ago. He’d been the managing partner of a midsized general practice firm, and outside counsel to Hartz.
When he went in-house, Horowitz’ immediate job was to build up what was then a small legal department of just two or three attorneys. His goal was to expand in-house access to top-flight legal advice.
