Celgene Corp. of Summit, a biopharmaceutical company, announced Wednesday it would pay $3.5 billion for the share capital of Abraxis BioScience Inc. of Los Angeles, a biotechnology company. Celgene is represented by Jones Day in Irvine, Calif., and Proskauer Rose in New York, and Abraxis by Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson in New York.

Watson Pharma Buys U.S. Rights

Watson Pharmaceuticals Inc., a drug company in Morris Township, announced Friday that it paid $47 million for the U.S. rights to a progesterone gel product line from Columbia Laboratories Inc., a pharmaceutical research company in Livingston.
