Dear Editor:
It is curious that in Kevin Costello’s recent letter “Subjective Religious Concepts Have No Place in Civil Law” [Voice of the Bar, July 5], he casts his positioning for same-sex “marriage” as “civil equality,” when his argument runs contrary to his premise. My question to Mr. Costello is as follows: Why do you, in advocating for “civil equality,” not view men and women as equally necessary for our societies and families?
