The Advisory Committee on Judicial Conduct began hearings Monday on charges that Steven Perskie, while a Superior Court judge, failed to disclose a close political relationship with a potential witness in a legal malpractice case and was not candid when the subject came up at his tenure hearing in the state Senate Judiciary Committee.
In more than three hours of testimony, a lawyer in the Atlantic County case described in detail how Perskie continued to preside after learning the witness might testify and initially hid from the counsel the full extent of the relationship.
