In re Pearman, No. 09-20730; U.S. Bankruptcy Court (DNJ); opinion by Ferguson, U.S.B.J.; filed July 14, 2010. DDS No. 42-6-8778 [13 pp.]
Therese Pearman lost both of her grandparents within weeks of each other in 1989. After trying to collect her thoughts about her loss, she wrote a poem titled “Golden Heart (For My Pop-Pop).” Over the years, she shared it with friends and family. Eventually, she submitted the poem to the National Poetry Society, which suggested that she register a copyright for it. She did so.
