United States v. Christie, No. 09-2908; Third Circuit; opinion by Jordan, U.S.C.J.; filed September 15, 2010. Before Judges Rendell, Jordan and Greenaway. On appeal from the District of New Jersey. [Sat below: Judge Ackerman.] DDS No. 14-8-9766 [32 pp.]

A grand jury returned an indictment charging defendant Russell Christie with possession, receipt and advertising of child pornography. The indictment was the culmination of a two-year investigation into the website of the North American Man-Girl Love Association (NAMGLA), which featured a password-protected forum where users could post links to sexually explicit images and videos of children and comment thereon. Forty individual users were identified through their IP addresses, including defendant, a moderator of the site.
