An overflow crowd of 400 attorneys and judges packed the Hanover Marriott in Whippany on Oct. 5 to attend the Chabad of South East Morris County’s fourth annual Jewish Law Symposium. The featured event, a panel discussion, was titled “Who Shall Judge: Ethical Challenges in Judicial Appointments.” Raymond Brown, host of the New Jersey Network program “Due Process,” moderated the discussion, along with retired N.J. Supreme Court Justice Gary Stein; Sherman Cohn, professor of law at Georgetown University Law Center and member of the ABA Reading Team for U.S. Supreme Court nominees; and Rabbi Ronald Warburg, a Talmudic scholar and author. Opening remarks were made by Rabbi Shalom Lubin, founder of the Jewish Law Symposium and director of Chabad of SE Morris County, based in Madison.
Conference panelists included, from left, Professor Sherman Cohn, Rabbi Shalom Lubin, former Justice Gary Stein and Raymond Brown.
