For the second time, a federal judge in Newark has declined to certify a class action by magazine subscribers who claim a subsidiary of Time Inc. charged for renewals without their consent.

District Judge Jose Linares ruled on Monday in McNair v. Synapse Group, Inc., 06-cv-5072, that the plaintiffs, who received postcards with allegedly deceptive renewal information, failed to make the required showing of class cohesion.
