Holiday Rescue — A Wisconsin subsidiary of air cargo carrier DHL Express has turned to Paterson solo Paul Fernandez to help get two pilots — arrested in the Dominican Republic after 321 pounds of cocaine and four pounds of heroin were found in their plane — out of jail in time for the holidays.

Pilots Kevin Kuranz of Wisconsin and Christopher Schmidt of Tennessee were detained on Dec. 2 in Santo Domingo after authorities found drugs in floor and ceiling panels. No charges have been filed, but the country’s legal system allows for preventive detention.
