Thanks to an appellate court ruling, a criminal convict will get a shot at pursuing his claim that he spurned a plea deal only because his attorney did not tell him of the possibility of a lengthier prison term.
The attorney’s failure to advise and her later acknowledgment as much is enough to establish a prima facie case of ineffective assistance of counsel, the Appellate Division held Thursday in State v. Dennis , A-3934-07.
