A former commodities trader seeking a reduction in alimony payments may have been shortchanged on his assertion that technology rendered his job obsolete, a New Jersey appeals court ruled Tuesday.

Finding the record below inadequate, the Appellate Division remanded for “findings and analysis necessary to enable this court to conduct meaningful appellate review” of the judge’s decision that the plaintiff failed to shoulder his burden of demonstrating a change in financial circumstances warranting a permanent modification of support.
