In an unusual situation, two contenders have successfully petitioned for ballot slots against candidates handpicked by the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Nominating Committee.

On Tuesday, the Bar announced it had verified the petitions submitted by Ivette Alvarez, entitling her to run against Angela White Dalton for the position of secretary, and by Amy Sara Cores, earning her the right to challenge William Ferreira for an at-large trustee seat.
