Christine Gravelle, a partner with Markowitz Gravelle in Lawrenceville, was sworn in as the 2011 Mercer County Bar Association president by U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Kathryn Ferguson on Feb. 10 at the Trenton Country Club in West Trenton. The other officers are: president-elect, Nick Travisano, a Trenton solo; vice president, Samuel Gaylord, a partner with Gaylord, Popp in Trenton; treasurer, Dorothy Bolinsky, a partner at Drinker, Biddle & Reath in Princeton; and secretary, Michelle Gasparian, assistant Mercer County prosecutor in Trenton. Margaret Chipowsky, a partner with Lenox, Socey, Formidoni, Brown, Giordano, Cooley & Casey in Lawrenceville, was sworn in as a 2011 trustee. Sworn in as first-term trustees were Robert Casey, a partner with Lenox, Socey; Michael Kahme, a partner at Hill Wallack in Princeton; and Tanya Phillips, an associate with Devlin, Cittadino & Shaw in Trenton. Brian Duff, a partner with Destribats Campbell Magee Staub & Burns in Trenton, and Stacey Guerds, an assistant Mercer County prosecutor, were sworn in as second-term trustees. VLJ Presents Seminar on Advocacy for Reentry

Volunteer Lawyers for Justice’s Newark Reentry Legal Services, ReLeSe, featured a seminar, “Effective Legal Advocacy for Reentry After Conviction or Incarceration,” on Feb. 15 at Rutgers Law School-Newark, sponsored by the school’s Eric R. Neisser Public Interest Program and the Institute for Professional Education. The panelists were Gina DeVito, ReLeSe’s managing attorney; Todd Berger, managing attorney for the Federal Prisoner Reentry Project at Rutgers Law School-Camden; Essex County Superior Court Judge Patricia Costello; Ingrid Johnson, chairwoman of the Newark Reentry Advisory Board; Akil Roper, supervising attorney, Prisoner Reentry Project, Legal Services of New Jersey; and Taja-Nia Henderson, assistant professor, Rutgers Law School-Newark.
