A Muslim woman who claims she was denied a driver’s license because she refused to remove her headdress for the photograph and then was arrested can go forward with her discrimination suit.

U.S. District Judge Jerome Simandle on Monday refused to dismiss on summary judgment certain claims by Pamela Windrow Islam against a Motor Vehicle Commission office manager who insisted she remove her head scarf and the police officer who arrested her.
