Eve Biskind Klothen, shown, assistant dean for pro bono and public interest programs at Rutgers Law School-Camden, on March 19 was named the recipient of the Outstanding Service Award from Philadelphia Volunteers for the Indigent Program. Before joining the law school staff, Klothen served as the organization’s founding executive director.

Lowenstein, Merck Aid Nonprofit’s Clients

Lowenstein Sandler in Roseland has joined Merck & Co. Inc. in providing pro bono legal services to clients of Newark’s Volunteer Lawyers for Justice’s bankruptcy program. Under the program, Merck and Lowenstein attorneys help clients prepare voluntary Chapter 7 bankruptcy petitions and provide representation at hearings and meetings with Chapter 7 trustees.
