A bus driver left with limited mobility and other injuries from a crash with a runaway equipment trailer has accepted $2.7 million to settle her Ocean County suit, Kaiser v. Down to Earth Landscaping Inc.
On March 9, 2007, Susan Kaiser, then 58, was transporting special-needs students in Jackson when her mini-bus was hit head-on by a landscaping equipment trailer that broke free of an oncoming truck. Her legs became trapped under the steering wheel and dashboard of her vehicle, according to her attorney, James Curry Jr. , who heads a firm in Toms River.
