A municipal prosecutor who was replaced after reporting her town’s judge for holding court while intoxicated was awarded $1.3 million, most of it punitive damages, in her whistleblower suit.

A Morris County jury on Tuesday sustained Michele D’Onofrio’s claim that she was fired in retaliation for her report to the Advisory Committee on Judicial Conduct about Richard Sasso, a judge in Warren and three other towns.
