A Bergenfield man whose leg was crushed by a bus accepted $3.5 million on May 5 to settle his suit, Castellanos v. New Jersey Transit .

On Aug. 13, 2008, Rafael Castellanos, then 63, was crossing River Road at Mercer Street in Hackensack when a bus turning left onto River Road hit him in the crosswalk. He was knocked down and his right leg was run over.
