Finally, you negotiate what you believe to be a great settlement for your client, a wife in a divorce action. Both parties sign the agreement and you finalize the divorce.
A few weeks later, however, you learn your client’s ex-husband has filed for bankruptcy. Your client is fearful she may never receive what she negotiated in the divorce settlement, which includes alimony, equitable distribution, payment of credit card debt and counsel fees.
