Jersey Solons: Smartest on Paper — The New Jersey Legislature is the best educated nationally, in terms of members holding advanced degrees, according to a report by The Chronicle of Higher Education .
New Jersey ranks first, with 59.1 percent of lawmakers holding law, doctoral or master’s degrees, followed by Virginia (57.9 percent), New York (55.7 percent), Nebraska (52.6 percent) and Oregon (52.3 percent).
