The Senate Judiciary Committee on Monday gave its approval to the appointment of Joseph Krakora as head of the Office of the Public Defender, succeeding Yvonne Smith Segars.
Krakora, who like Segars is a Democrat, received no opposition. The nomination must still be approved by the full Senate, which is expected.
