The Leonard I. Garth Atrium was dedicated in the Martin Luther King Jr. Federal Building & U.S. Courthouse in Newark during a special session of the Third U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on June 24. Garth was appointed by President Richard Nixon in 1970 to the U.S. District Court and elevated in 1973 to the Third Circuit, where he continues to serve as a senior judge at the age of 90. His former law clerks have raised funds to support an annual endowed lecture series in his name at Rutgers Law School-Newark.

Lowenstein Sandler of Roseland and John Hargrave, who heads a firm in Barrington, were presented with the New Jersey State Bar Association’s 2010-11 Pro Bono Award on June 8 at the Law Center in New BrKenneth Zimmerman, Lowenstein Center for the Public Interest chairman, and State Bar President Susan Feeneyunswick. The award is presented annually to an individual and firm that demonstrate exemplary pro bono service.
