Two plaintiffs’ firms are being sued for malpractice for misstating the cause of death of a Vioxx user, which allegedly led to denial of recovery from a multibillion-dollar global settlement fund.

The suit says Carey, Danis & Lowe of St. Louis and Douglas & London of New York mischaracterized a decedent’s cause of death as a myocardial infarction, when he actually suffered from a sudden cardiac death.
