Devils’ Bargain — The New Jersey Devils’ use of a Brooklyn band’s hard-rocking track to warm up fans has the songwriter spoiling for a fight. In a New York federal court suit, Robert Traynor of Black Water Rising claims his song “Rise” was appropriated without getting permission or offering compensation.

The band found out in October about the song’s use in a marketing video — played on the Devils’ website, their YouTube channel and inside Newark’s Prudential Center during games.
