MCLE Mulligan — If you got a letter charging you $150 because you failed to satisfy continuing legal education requirements, you’re not alone. Thousands of lawyers failed to report compliance and got a letter last month demanding they pay $150 or face administrative suspension.

In the face of numerous complaints from attorneys and the State Bar Association, the Board on Continuing Legal Education, chaired by William Staehle of Morristown, announced Sept. 22 a one-time fee waiver and refunds to those who had already paid. It will also refund the $50 fee for those who obtained extensions.
