DeCotiis FitzPatrick & Cole has been disqualified from representing plaintiffs who claim Prudential Life Ins. Co. paid their lawyers millions of dollars in fees to keep their employment claims out of court and limit their recovery.
Bergen County Superior Court Judge Brian Martinotti on Thursday ousted the Teaneck firm based on a meeting it had nine years ago with Prudential in-house lawyers who were shopping around for lawyers to defend them from the claims.
