NIMBY to Head Shop — In the first instance of a New Jersey municipality being asked to sign off on a medical-marijuana dispensary within its aegis, Maple Shade has said no.

On Wednesday, after hearing complaints from about 50 residents of the Burlington County town, the Zoning Board of Adjustment unanimously denied the Compassionate Sciences Alternate Treatment Center’s application to set up shop in a former furniture store on Route 73.
