Oceana Therapeutics LLC, a provider of specialty therapeutics in Edison, announced on Nov. 8 the sale of its Oceana Therapeutics Inc. unit to pharmaceutical company Salix Pharmaceuticals Ltd. of Raleigh, N.C., for $300 million in cash. Oceana was advised by a team from Debevoise & Plimpton in New York City, led by Kevin Schmidt, while Salix was advised by a team from Covington & Burling in Washington, D.C., led by Ed Britton and Catherine Dargan.

Chinatrust Loans BoughtFor $8.35M

Chinatrust Bank in Edison, a division of Chinatrust Financial Holding Co. in Torrance, Calif., announced on Nov. 5 it has sold its nonperforming loans to Pacifica Companies, a real estate investing company in San Diego, for $8.35 million.
