Shaffona Morgan shot Juan Carlos Martinez, the son of grocery store owner Juan Battista Martinez, after an argument over a used Boost Mobile phone card defendant had purchased at the store earlier in the day. Defendant was convicted of aggravated assault of Juan Carlos and possession of a handgun for an unlawful purpose. The jury acquitted her of attempted murder and was unable to reach a unanimous verdict with respect to robbery and aggravated assault of Juan Battista.
