This year has brought me more than a lifetime’s worth of lessons about an issue that may affect at least 50 percent of the married population: conflicts of interest in matrimonial cases. (For the record, I am not a matrimonial attorney.)

Most of us know that a lawyer may not represent both the husband and wife in a matrimonial case. But, here, we are talking about some more nuanced issues.
