The Hudson County Bar Association installed new officers and trustees for 2012 on Jan. 19 at Liberty House Restaurant in Jersey City. The officers are Brian Neary, shown, who heads a firm with offices in Hackensack and Hoboken, president; Norberto Garcia, president-elect; Stephen McCurrie, first vice president; Mitzy Galis-Menendez, second vice president; Gregory Diebold, recording secretary; Lori Cieckiewicz, membership secretary; Jonathan Koles, treasurer; and Cataldo Fazio, immediate past president. The trustees are Brunilda Bonilla, Anna Noris, Frances Nicotra, Kevin Russell, Richard Villanova and Jane Weiner. Officers of the Bar’s Young Lawyers Division are Robert Finn, president; Jordan Goldsmith, vice president; Jose Vilarino, treasurer; Christopher Birkheimer, membership secretary; and Christine Fitzgerald, recording secretary.

Locks Receives NJSBA’s Dreier Award

The New Jersey State Bar Association’s Product Liability and Toxic Tort Section presented Gene Locks, left, with the Dreier Award on Feb. 15 at the New Jersey Law Center in New Brunswick. Locks, founder and senior partner of the Locks Law Firm in Philadelphia, Cherry Hill and Englewood Cliffs, was honored for his service to the profession, as well as his responsibility for landmark decisions in product liability and toxic tort cases. Shown with him is James Pettit, his partner and immediate past chairman of the Bar section. The award is named for retired Appellate Division Judge William Dreier.
