A Bergen County judge has ordered a former Hackensack police officer to pay $128,000 in legal fees as a sanction for suing the county prosecutor’s office.

Superior Court Judge Susan Steele on March 5 found the county entitled to trial fees and costs under the Law Against Discrimination, the Conscientious Employee Protection Act and the Civil Rights Act, as well as the frivolous litigation statute.
