A rules committee is calling for procedural overhauls that would stir more activity in a sector of the state court system that already handles many more cases than any of its counterparts.
In a report released Wednesday, the Special Civil Part Practice Committee recommends making detainer and ejectment actions cognizable in Special Civil as summary proceedings and allowing court officers, instead of sheriff’s deputies, to execute writs of possession.
