A New Jersey attorney who pleaded guilty to rigging bids at tax lien auctions has been hit with a putative class action by homeowners who say they paid inflated fees because of his actions.
The suit says Robert Stein, formerly of the now-defunct Stein & Zeitz in Cherry Hill, led a scheme that preyed on homeowners, many elderly, who fell behind on property tax payments.
