An arbitrator awarded a woman $1.27 million for permanent back injuries from a fall into a pothole, but she ended up with $900,000 under a high-low agreement in her suit, Castanada v. Summa Property Management.

On May 9, 2007, Linda Castanada, now 43, of Elizabeth, was walking through the parking lot of an office building at 27 Prince St. in Elizabeth when she fell.
