Hess Corp. will make $45 million in pollution-control upgrades at its Port Reading refinery and pay $850,000 in civil penalties to settle a government suit in federal court, it was announced Wednesday.
The suit by the Environmental Protection Agency, the Department of Justice and state Department of Environmental Protection alleged violations of the federal Clean Air Act and related state laws.
