S.K. v. J.H., A-1358-11T2; Appellate Division; opinion by Fisher, P.J.A.D.; decided and approved for publication June 6, 2012. Before Judges Fisher, Nugent and Carchman. On appeal from the Chancery Division, Family Part, Middlesex County, FV-12-264-12. DDS No. 20-2-6518 [13 pp.]
Plaintiff S.K. and defendant J.H. were on a trip to Israel with approximately 40 others. They had not met before the trip. A few days after arriving in Israel, plaintiff, defendant and others attended a group function. They sat together, danced together and were together for a few hours at the bar. Defendant then walked plaintiff to her room, where he attempted to kiss her but she pushed him away. When he saw her later, he attacked her. She suffered severe bruises, a broken orbit, fractures of the jaw, cuts requiring stitches, and an injury to her left lung. Defendant was prosecuted criminally in Israel.
