A Fort Lee police officer responded to a report of an armed robbery in progress. At the scene, several people pointed out a red SUV stopped in traffic at a light and said that the occupants were armed and had “just robbed the place.” The officer ordered the occupants to get out. One man, later identified as defendant Darnell Bland, got out and then fled on foot. When the SUV drove away, the officer radioed in its route, as well as the direction in which Bland had run.
