After a strong rebound year in 2010, New Jersey’s second tier of high-grossing law firms settled back into a more sedate growth pattern in 2011, but their overall health showed no sign of abating.

The firms that ranked 21st to 40th in revenue production earned $573.5 million in 2011, a robust 3.64 percent increase over $553.4 million the year before. True, it was a small fraction of the 11.54 percent growth enjoyed in 2010, but that spurt was an aberration, coming as it did after the 2009 free fall in revenue that followed the recession.
