Life Enervates Art — A memorial honoring New Jerseyans killed in the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, was removed from Vernon Municipal Court after a judge said it was interfering with courtroom operation and even could serve as a weapon.

“As the court must maintain a secure environment, I believe that it would be in everyone’s best interest to remove the memorial to a secure place,” Judge James Devine wrote in a June 26 letter to Vernon Mayor Victor Marotta.
