M&T Bank Corp. of Buffalo, N.Y., announced on Aug. 27 it paid about $3.7 billion for bank operator Hudson City Bancorp in Paramus. Hudson City is being advised by Sullivan & Cromwell,and M&T by Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz, both of New York City.
Hertz Makes $2.3B Acquisition
Hertz in Park Ridge announced on Aug. 27 its acquisition of Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group of Tulsa, Okla., for about $2.3 billion. Both are car-rental companies.
