Retired Supreme Court Justice Virginia Long, shown, one of only four women in the Rutgers School of Law-Newark’s 125-member class of 1966, was the keynote speaker at Rutgers University’s 247th anniversary commencement, held May 19, at High Point Solutions Stadium in Piscataway. Long who sat on the Supreme Court from 1999 to 2012 and sat on lower courts before that, for a total of 34 years on the bench urged graduates to strive to make a difference in the world, focusing on injustice, poverty and other societal ills. Long is of counsel at Fox Rothschild in Princeton.
Essex Bar Installs Officers

The Essex County Bar Association installed its 2013-14 officers and trustees on April 29 at the Pleasantdale Chateau in West Orange. The officers are: President Thomas Quinn, shown, a partner with Wilson Elser Moskowitz Edelman & Dicker in Florham Park; President Elect Kenneth Rosenberg, a partner with Fox Rothschild in Roseland; Vice President Judith Hartz, a partner at Kozyra & Hartz in Roseland; Treasurer Rubin Sinins, a partner with Javerbaum Wurgaft Hicks Kahn Wikstrom & Sinins in Newark; Secretary Francine Aster, who heads a firm in Verona; and Immediate Past President Robert Scrivo, a partner at McElroy Deutsch Mulvaney & Carpenter in Morristown.
