Defendant Robert Handy was charged with the murder of his uncle. In pretrial proceedings, although experts conducted multiple evaluations of him for the purpose of determining his competency, defense counsel essentially agreed that defendant was competent to stand trial but that he was not competent to waive an insanity defense.
