United Parcel Service will pay $70,000 to settle a federal suit in New Jersey charging it refused to give a truck loader time off to attend an annual Jehovah’s Witness event.
The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission sued on Christopher Pompey’s behalf, alleging “malicious and reckless conduct” and violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act.
