How do educators learn how to help their students in grades three through 12 create and present a mock trial case? By attending free workshops offered by the New Jersey State Bar Foundation.
This fall, the NJSBF held two educational workshops: The first was a joint Law Fair (grades 3-6) and Law Adventure (grades 7-8) teachers’ workshop to familiarize educators with how best to help their students create original cases such as ones based on this year’s Law Adventure themes of animal rights and students’ rights. The second workshop was geared to schooling teacher-coaches and lawyer-coaches in the finer points of preparing their teams to hit the ground running in the award-winning Vincent J. Apruzzese High School Mock Trial Competition, now in its 32nd year.
