A lawyer has drawn a three-month suspension for telling a client in a 2007 criminal case that an alleged connection to Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff could help win a better deal.
The New Jersey Supreme Court imposed the discipline on Newark’s Gerald Saluti on Jan. 30, following the recommendation of the Disciplinary Review Board last November.
