A federal judge has rejected sanctions against a plaintiff’s lawyer in a surgical-mesh products liability case in which his client said he was uncertain whether mesh was implanted into his body.

Defendant Davol, which is part of defendant C.R. Bard, develops products for soft-tissue reconstructions, including mesh prosthetics and biologic implants. It had moved for sanctions against plaintiffs’ counsel Leo P. Ross on the ground that he didn’t conduct sufficient ‘‘‘factual and legal analysis’” before filing the complaint.
