The New Jersey Senate and General Assembly on Dec. 19 presented Partners for Women and Justice with a joint legislative resolution, recognizing the organization on its 10th anniversary of providing legal assistance to domestic violence victims and their children. Assemblyman Thomas Giblin and his chief of staff, Lolita Cruz, presented the resolution to Partners Executive Director Jane Hanson and Trustee Patricia Devine Harms.
Rutgers Hosts Law Careers Panel

The Rutgers University Pre-Law Advising Program hosted its annual Careers in the Law Panel on Feb. 25 at the Eagleton Institute of Politics in New Brunswick, organized by Professor Milton Heumann and attended by more than 60 aspiring lawyers. On the panel were Judge Philip Carchman, now serving on recall status; James Condren, senior vice president and associate general counsel at JPMorgan Chase; Viola Lordi, of Wilentz, Goldman & Spitzer in Woodbridge; Akil Roper, vice president and assistant general counsel at the Legal Services of New Jersey; and Paul Talbert, a partner at Donohoe Talbert in New York City. Each explained their area of law practice and how they were able to achieve their positions.
