Electric carmaker Tesla is keeping the pedal to the metal in efforts to maintain its toehold in New Jersey—through legislation and, most recently, an appeal to the courts.
The company on Wednesday asked the Superior Court Appellate Division to review the state Motor Vehicle Commission’s rule, adopted last month, that explicitly requires all automakers to sell through franchised dealers. Tesla sells directly to consumers.
